Okay so I’m very dumb. I assumed what I wanted was D# as the root of the ending chord because that was the ending note of the riff I made. But the root of the chord is actually is E. So it’s an Emaj7? (I guess that’s the name) but without the B note of the chord.

I still don’t know the name but I guess as long as a got the chord shape right it’s okay.

This is why I need friends who understand music so they can answer all my questions.

Fender Stratocaster, Squier Telecaster, K Acoustic and Gretsch 5120.
How much would you love to look across at the corner of your room and see these four smiling back at you? Paul V is the lucky guy who can do this for real;
“My collection: Fender American Strat, Squier 50’s vibe Tele , 30 year old K acoustic and my Gretsch 5120”

that 5120

I still suck at harmonics.

I never get tired of playing the solo to “Smile Like You Mean It”. It’s so simple, yet fun.

1963 Harmony Rocket.
Here’s the second offering tonight and it’s a doozy. Maxiimas sent this gorgeous red-head in with the simple tag line we all dream about happening to us; “I got it from an old man’s basement!”
HOPEFULLY with his full permission lol, rather than a quick snatch-and-run. The Rocket was in production from 1958 till 1972, initially as a single cutaway like this model, with a double cutaway edition being introduced in 1967. Surprisingly enough they can still turn up at almost reasonable prices on eBay, making them pretty much the only things that do.

Such a beautiful guitar.

Okay I’m going to try and stop using power chords for a while. I’ve gotten too comfortable with them. It’s time to expand my mind and learn some new chords.

Finally got Taking Back Sunday to sign my pickguard! Life long goal complete! (Taken with Instagram)

Ideas for a song can come about at any moment. I just came up with a chord progression by accident because I struck a bum note while messing around. I even made a lyric/song concept from a text post that someone reblogged on tumblr.

Fender Jazzmaster.
Here’s a brilliant ‘landing strip’ photo taken by Troubadoursmith of the band Floof And The Timebandits, who says: “Took this quick picture today of my 2008 classic player’s Jazzmaster. It’s a really amazing and versatile guitar, and was played on the majority of my new album!”

Gotta love Blue Steel strings.

1960’s Teisco.
Not quite sure what model this is, it looks similar to an EP-2T but there are too many differences. Any of you educated types out there care to hazard a guess?

What!
My buddy has one of these. I am in love with it!

I really do love playing rhythm guitar.

Today was very eventful. FINALLY had a perfect jam session. It’s amazing how quick my friends picked up bass and drums. But seriously the material we came up was amazing. The energy was perfect! We didn’t waste any time playing other stuff. Just all original. Plus we got an extra half hour to play because the person in charge ran late.

Then later on I just chilled with some friends I haven’t hung out with in a while.
